Racine St. Catherine's at Martin Luther - I certainly wouldn't be surprised if this one went either way, but on the whole, I think the Angels are the better and deeper team.

Dominican at Racine Lutheran - I question how wise it is to be running your top back in the 4th quarter of a game against an utterly overmatched opponent, but I guess you gotta make up for those yards you didn't get against RSC somewhere...Dominican has to stop turning the ball over if they wanna compete. The Knights have definitely been a bit of a disappointment this year.

Friday, 10/11

Catholic Central at Kenosha St. Joseph's - Huge game for playoff qualification. Win and you're in, lose and you have to sweat out week 9 (against the Racines) and then tiebreakers. Would not be surprised to see BCC come out hot in this one, but the best player on the field wears blue and gold and look for him to make big plays late to push the Lancers over the hump.

St. Thomas More at Shoreland Lutheran - Another shot for STM to be competitive and find stuff to build on. For Shoreland, a consolation prize for showing up and competing every week.

Racine St. Catherine's at Martin Luther - I'd have to agree with anyone who feels St. Cats should have beaten the Purple Lutherans, but woulda, coulda, shoulda never won a football game. If they learned their lessons from that stumble, they will take care of business against the Green Lutherans, however.

Dominican at Racine Lutheran - I bet everyone down on Spring Street feels really good about themselves for running up the score on the Junior Cavaliers last weekend. Hard to root for teams like that. Dominican will be up for this one but won't present much more of a challenge, sadly.

Friday, 10/11

Catholic Central at Kenosha St. Joseph's - BCC continues getting big plays from sophomore (and world-class Greco-Roman wrestler) Henry Amborn. The more kids they get in that Greco program, the better and tougher this Topper program's going to get. KSJ brings more to the table this year, but mark my words, that wrestling club they've started is going to push up the success of football for certain and the brand of the school in general.

St. Thomas More at Shoreland Lutheran - TM is starting to get the buy-in from the lunchpail kids they need to build around, but if they don't add a few athletes like RaLu and RSC have, they won't be competing for anything more than a .500 conference record. Thing is, I honestly think they'd have a chance to win this game (and a couple others this year) if they were running Wing-T, wishbone, or the single wing Kennedy used so well at Bradford and BC.

Anything that doesn't involve the scourge of struggling programs in Wisconsin HS football...the fallacy of running things out of the shotgun.

Racine St. Catherine's at Martin Luther: Depth at the skill positions will be the deciding factor here.

Dominican at Racine Lutheran: Lost season for the Knights. Unfortunately RaLu won't make things any easier here this week.

Friday, 10/11

Catholic Central at Kenosha St. Joseph's: As much as I see KSJ winning this game, I can very much see BCC controlling the LOS and getting a low scoring win.

St. Thomas More at Shoreland Lutheran: Shoreland has been kicked around in league play this year, at least there is STM to take some frustration out on this year.
