Good teams win, great teams cover?

Not sure Bucky has a shot to do either if the line stays at 18.

I believe A.J. Taylor has been ruled out for the year.

Yep, announced on Friday ... tough break for the senior.  Expect to see more of Danny Davis, Jack Dunn & Aron Cruickshank at WR over the next 2 games.  Remember Davis' big game in the Orange Bowl vs Miami, 2 yrs ago ... the day Alex Hornibrook threw for over 300 yards and 4 TD's with no INT's.  If I remember correctly, Davis was on the receiving end of 3 of those TD passes.

Tell ya what - the Badgers punched the vaunted Buckeyes right in the mouth multiple times and it was awesome!!  Gotta love it.  I may puke having to listen to these Fox guys though!  7th time Ohio St. has been the marquee game on Fox this year - might as well give them a contract like Notre Dame's on NBC.

The first possession of the second half will be huge.  Get a stop and things really get interesting.  Man I would love to have to watch Urban explain away a loss in this game.  He may come to tears.

And the Ohio State avalanche begins, aided by some brutal officiating. OSU leads 24-21 going into the 4th.

As long as Wisconsin keeps it close they should earn a Rose Bowl birth...one would think...

Not sure what happened to the playcalling. First half was amazing. Badgers had them confused just about every play, but the 2nd half was just awful to watch, especially UW's 2nd-to-last drive of the game. Officiating was questionable all game, but it wasn't the reason they lost. Ohio State wanted it more. No shame in losing to the #1 team in the country.

Rose Bowl, anyone?

I don't want to see Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl at all.  Terrible match up.  Oregon is better at everything except rushing.  We think Chase Young is good, dealing with Kayvon Thibodeaux will be just as bad and perhaps a little worse because Oregon does such a good job moving him around and Troy Dye will likely have his cast off finally, which will make him a nightmare to deal with in the middle.  Getting out Wisconsin'd by Oregon would just not be fun to watch, they aren't the lightning offense anymore, they play physical football and have arguably the best offensive line in the country, and they can play defense with the best of them finally.

Final Score

The loss of any one player shouldn't make a great difference ... however, Bucky played the entire 2nd half with their all-conference inside linebacker Chris Orr on the sidelines in street clothes. Orr was tied for the team lead in sacks and up there in tackles for loss.  He was the ringleader on defense and an unbelievable force against the run. Although unquantifiable, I believe Orr's loss in the 2nd half had some kind of an effect on the defense.

Also, anyone (media, coaches, fans) who believes Faion Hicks is UW's #1 cornerback is using completely different criteria to assess cornerback play than I do.

The missed illegal procedure call on the Buckeye wide receiver on a 2nd-half TD was a travesty.  The WR was maybe 5 yards in front of the side judge ... I have no idea what the official was looking at.  We'll never know what the impact of the missed call was ... perhaps tOSU ends up kicking a field goal ... perhaps they miss a field goal attempt, perhaps they score a TD in spite of the penalty.  No matter, the missed call resulted in a Buckeye TD which they may not have scored otherwise.

Bucky looked & played like "first-half-of-the-season" Badgers in the first half of this game ... in the 2nd half of the game, Bucky looked like they did for about a 3-4-game stretch in the middle of the season ... they didn't tackle well and they couldn't cover/defend in the secondary.

Not sure why they reverted the way they did, but I remain unconvinced this Chryst/Rudolph braintrust is the right set-up for the program. Not using Taylor in the early going of the second half had disastrous results.

Also, good riddance to Anthony Lotti.

New Years Day is always great - but with the Badgers playing in the Rose Bowl - it makes it that much better.  Right now, not going to worry about Oregon, but enjoy getting to Pasadena.  The granddaddy of them all!  Just wish Keith Jackson was going to be doing the game.
