For anyone who goes to Fondy games - is this the year for them to roll?  I cant get to a game because I have my father in hospice at my house. Didnt get to a game last year either and Fondy gave Kimberly a run in the two games they played them. I see Fondy is winning by huge scores. Are the other teams that bad or is Fondy just that good. Hoping they are that good - still have alot of buddies that live down in that area - several of them played for the Jim Johnson powerhouse teams of the 1960's and 1970's.

Fond du Lac is very good, Doc.  I saw the Fondy-Kimberly game & was very impressed by the Cardinals.  15 starters back from last year's team, including four O-linemen who were either 1st, 2nd or HM all-conference a year ago.  No glaring weaknesses that I could see.  They can run, they can pass, their linebackers fly to the ball on defense.  They control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.  Fundamentally sound & disciplined. Certainly a potential state champ.  If you go to You-Tube, I believe you can find video of some of their games this season.

Thanks
I will look into the You-Tube stuff.  The town goes absolutely nuts when Fondy rolls. I missed the 1967-1969 seasons because I was in the military. I still remember going to a home Fondy game in 1970 and getting there about 1 hour early and the stands were packed already. A bunch of us kept going to the Fondy games(home and way) till Jim Johnson retired - think that was after Phil Johnson's last year - 1974 season? a long long time ago, I do know that. Do they still play at the old field across the street from old Goodrich High? believe that was on 9th street, 2 blocks off of Main street. I have to assume they put in a new field when they built the never Fond du Lac high school, but perhaps not. That was a great place to watch  high school football at the old field - Fruth field named after Ed Fruth. Fruth was a teacher that was old even when my dad had him as a teacher in the 1930's in high school.
