Racine Horlick at Burlington - We'll get a better read on both these teams here but particularly Horlick, who may not have shown well in Week 1, but likely have the higher chance of a deep playoff run of these two squads.

Friday, 8/24

Wilmot at Franklin - This was a barn-burner last year. While I don't think it will play out that way this year, it'll probably be a competitive affair. Both offenses seem to be works-in-progress.

Kenosha Bradford at Lake Geneva Badger - LGB's Week 1 result makes you wonder about their ceiling this year, but every time they lose a ton of contributors they tend to grow new ones as the next season progresses. Not sure what to make of Bradford at this point...wouldn't be surprised to see multiple OTs again this week.

Waterford at Kenosha Indian Trail - KIT may be headed for a tough season. Hudson is a good team though. Waterford's offense gets out of the starting blocks this week.

Carmel Catholic (IL) at Oak Creek - Carmel's a pretty good program and OC is probably a bit down from a year ago.

Racine Lutheran at Racine Park - RaLu won comfortably a year ago, and I'm picking them again here, though Park's explosiveness is Week 1 gives me pause. The Panthers also may have the advantage in the trenches this year. Stay tuned, could be a sleeper for GOTW.

Kenosha Tremper at Milwaukee King - Tremper may be a cellar-dweller in the SEC, but that still puts them a cut above the Woodland-East, and a re-tooling King squad.

Racine Case at Lincoln-Way West (IL) - Case got off on the right foot, but I struggle to see their young squad going down to Illinois and winning here.

Racine Horlick at Burlington  - Agree with DB that this will give us a better read on both teams.  I expected a 70-0 win by Horlick last week so I'm curious to see how this one goes.

Friday, 8/24

Wilmot at Franklin   This will probably look a lot like last year early on, but Franklin pulls away in the 2nd half.

Kenosha Bradford at Lake Geneva Badger   Bradford is very very young and is going to have some growing pains early.  LGB will be too much up front.

Waterford at Kenosha Indian Trail   KIT just doesn't look to be a team that can compete with the big boys anymore.  It won't be a blowout like last year, but Waterford wins handily.

Carmel Catholic (IL) at Oak Creek    Carmel's D1 QB and WR transferred to Antioch in the offseason, and their HC got fired.  Too much upheaval in the program to start off strong.  OC squeeks one out.

Racine Lutheran at Racine Park   Park looked good, against a terrible Pius team.  Don't see that continuing this week, or for quite a while for that matter.

Kenosha Tremper at Milwaukee King   Tremper gets a 2-0 start, then they probably hit the skids for the remainder of the season.

Racine Case at Lincoln-Way West (IL)    It's beginning to look like Case could throw a wrench into things in the SEC this year.  Can't say the same for this game.  The Lincoln-Way schools are all very very good, this is probably a blow out.

Racine Horlick at Burlington: Better litmus test for Horlick and Burlington here. I think Horlick pulls away late.

Friday, 8/24

Wilmot at Franklin: Last year everybody thought this would be Franklin running another SLC team off the field. Turned into a slugfest. I expect the same thing here again this year.

Kenosha Bradford at Lake Geneva Badger: Ground and pound will the mantra again this week. I see one or two OT's here for Bradford.

Waterford at Kenosha Indian Trail: KIT got run off the field by a traditionally good Hudson team. However they have been trending backwards for the last few years. Waterford managed to keep it respectable against Franklin.

Carmel Catholic (IL) at Oak Creek: OC goes to 2-0 against a IL team that seems to be in turmoil.

Racine Lutheran at Racine Park: Have a distinct feeling this game could be a lot closer than expected.

Kenosha Tremper at Milwaukee King: King didn't let Shorewood run away with it after going down 14-0 early. However they need more offense if they want to beat Tremper here.

Racine Case at Lincoln-Way West (IL) : Way-West had a really good year last season it appears. Not sure what they bring back. Case surprised a few with their result against WC last week.....Could they make it two in a row?
