Arrowhead at Fond du Lac - Fondy's the consensus #1 and many people's pick to knock off Kimberly again and reach state. Not that long ago this game would not have been given a second look, but now you can't really overlook what the Warhawks have been doing as of late. I think Fondy keeps them at bay, but Arrowhead never quite goes away with Fondy getting a late score for a two-score margin of victory.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego - KM showed C8 superiority in routing Janesville Craig in Level 1, but the sledding gets decidedly tougher here. No second-time around hangover for the Warriors.

Mukwonago at Franklin - I, and many others have been down on the SEC this year, so I don't think anyone really has a gauge on how good this particular Franklin side is. I certainly can see them losing here, but I don't think this Mukwonago side is quite ready for that.

Waukesha West at Waterford - Will probably go back-and-forth on this one all week. This isn't your typical West team defensively and not their best line-wise. Waterford is a pretty physical team themselves. West has the ability to hurt you through the air, that could be a difference, but for now sticking with the Wolverines.

East Troy at Catholic Memorial - ET's QB is a pretty good dual threat, though they rarely throw. NBW kept them at bay early but the Trojans just kept coming at 'em and eventually Dessart started to find creases and got the big runs. Problem is, while that approach may work in the Rock Valley and against a middle-of-the-pack Woodland-West team, it is not likely to get the job done against the larger and faster Crusaders. ET is physical themselves on defense and might be able to slow CMH a bit...so maybe the score stays more respectable than expected.

Arrowhead at Fond du Lac - Would say this is one of the most intriguing L2 games regardless of division. Fondy has been a juggernaut, and since their 0-3 start, Arrowhead has absolutely looked the part of a contender. Both teams have no shortage of offense, defense and players. I think FdL will have a tight game, but will pull away like DB said.

Kettle Morainr at Muskego - Muskego looks every bit a state finalist, and looking st their side of D1, it looks quite attainable. We will see.

Waukesha West at Waterford - No matter who wins this game, both will be well tested and ready for war against either Brookfield school.

East Troy at Catholic Memorial - The Dessart kid can absolutely play, but the Rock Valley leaves much to be desired. They had to rally to beat NBW. CMH, while certainly not a perfect team, has the offense, size and speed to beat anyone, like what happened in the C8 this year.

Arrowhead at Fond du Lac - Classic 8 vs VFA. Wouldn't that be a fun Survivor Series? Hard to gauge Arrowhead because I haven't seen them recently, and the team I did see at the start of the year was underwhelming. The smart money says FDL, but this is the C8 board so I'm making this my upset special for the week.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego - The chopping of the wood ends here.

Mukwonago at Franklin - I agree with the assessment that the SEC is down this season, and I actually won't be surprised if Mukwonago pulls this off. It's a safe bet that they are more physical than anyone Franklin has played this year, and the Sabres don't always handle physical teams that well. I'll assume FHS wins this because they are deeper at the skill spots and more experienced in the playoffs, but I won't be shocked by an upset.

Waukesha West at Waterford - These are the games that Waterford has to win to get their program to be more than a Southern Lakes champion year-in and year-out. They may well pull this one off, too, but West has been improving every week.  Meanwhile, I've seen nothing this year to convince me that the Wolverines couldn't have gone undefeated in the SLC themselves.

East Troy at Catholic Memorial - CMH is big, strong, fast and explosive like nothing East Troy has seen all year. The Trojans won’t be overawed and they’ll give it their best shot, but four quarters of the Crusaders will wear them down. I think this gets out of hand in the second half after staying tight through the first two quarters. Also, I may just save this paragraph and reuse it next week.

Arrowhead at Fond du Lac: That result from Arrowhead last week gave me pause. 63 on a usually strong Verona team? Oof. However they will find it tough to replicate against Fondy. I feel that this will be competitive early on but the Cards pull away in the second half.

Kettle Moraine at Muskego: No upset special here.

Mukwonago at Franklin: Franklin has to be careful here. Their offense goes some spells of funk and while their D is good, Muk is going to test them on that side of the ball. Being at home I have to give them the benefit of the doubt here.

Waukesha West at Waterford: The game I am heading to. Waterford is the class of the SLC this year. However the SLC has traditionally struggled against the Classic 8 in the playoffs. I could see this going the other way but the home edge I guess.

East Troy at Catholic Memorial: Well at least the Rock Valley got a few more level one wins this year compared to last year.
