With Kick off just over a week away, I thought I would the time to get everyone's opinion on how they see the WIAC football race this season. As normal, it should be a three team race at the top, but expect some big moves in the middle of the pack this season.

1. UW Oshkosh - I know they lose a lot on the defensive side of the ball, but they return practically their entire offense from a season ago, and lost in the final minute to Whitewater on the road last season. After making a trip to the STAG Bowl, that will now be the goal every season. With a weird scheduling conflict, the Titans need to win the conference if they want to guarantee themselves a playoff berth.

2. UW Whitewater - What can you say about the Warhawks. They are the Kimberly of the WIAC and all of Division 3 college ball. No matter who they lose, they just retool and never rebuild. They play their first four games on the road this season before coming home, but they will be fighting for not only conference, but for the stag bowl yet again.

3. UW Platteville - I feel bad for Platteville. Every year they have a solid program who would be the conference favorites in almost every other league. But with Oshkosh and Whitewater in their conference, it is hard for them to get over those two obstacles to take that next step as a program.

4. UW Stevens Point - The Pointers could be a team on the rise this season, as a strong returning cast of players mixed with great recruiting should help them be a much more competitive team this season.

5. UW LA Crosse - They were a pleasant surprise last season going unbeaten through their first six games. Even with the loss of several key players, the Eagles should still find themselves in the middle of the back yet again.

6. UW River Falls - Have been more competitive in recent seasons. Now they just need to pick up wins to join that competitive nature.

7. UW Stout - The Blue Devils would be a much better team if they were not part of the WIAC. Just getting three conference wins is a challenge for them.

8. UW Eau Claire - The Blugolds were a much improved team last season, but that didn't show in the standings. This year may very well be the same. I expect them to show even more improvement this season, but they still have a ton of overall work as a program to do if they want to move up in the WIAC standings.

Would not shock me at all to see River Falls slide into fifth or possibly even fourth this season. They have been steadily on the rise and much more competitive in recent seasons. This season they will add a former Badger recruit to the linebacker core to solidify the defense.

They are not bashful about advertising and promoting their sports teams during Brewer games and I would guess that will pay off for them.

I don't recall seeing anywhere near as many commercials for WW in the past as I have seen this year. Maybe I just didn't pay attention? Maybe the Brewers were out of it by now and I didn't watch as many games?

I believe the article that you linked is from last season.... They finished 6-4 in 2015, not 2016.

Well that bites! That video popped up on the page while I was looking at all the week one videos they had of the local games. It was right there with them at the time. Otherwise I wouldn't have found it!

Here I was so fired up thinking I could link something the WIAC fans would enjoy. Dang it!
