Looking at the rankings we see what the Big Ten dominant sport is! With 1-3 all Big Ten schools! Then looking at the top 20 having 7 teams! that is awesome!

Watched this last night. Minnesota dominated this match. Hitting cross shots, blocking, digs. Minny could not be stopped! I assume Minnesota goes to 1 and Wisconsin 3 with Nebraska staying 2

Should add the Big Ten has 9 of their teams in the top 25! That is crazy! Only Maryland, Rutgers and Indiana are not in the top 25.

I have watched 6 matches that Wisconsin played this year. Their record is 2-4 in those games. 2 losses to Minnesota, 1 loss to Nebraska, 1 loss to Stanford. They did eke out a win against Penn State at home. They also won a squeaker against Ohio State in the playoffs prior to Sat's match. They just don't appear to me to be among the 'BIG GIRLS' when it comes down to the tough matches. I thought they were ranked too high all year. The team got pumped up in the rankings after beating Texas in Sept. Since that time, Wisconsin has really beat no one that they shouldn't have beat. They did finally beat Penn State at Wisconsin, but Penn State is not the team they have been in past years. If I recall Penn State is pretty young. Watching those matches, I wanted them to win; but the better teams won(Minnesota and Nebraska being primary).

Carlini tried to be too cute too many times against Stanford. A couple serving mistakes factored in also. The one girl for Stanford that absolutely crushes the ball is the best player I have seen all year. A few subtle changes/adjustments by the Stanford coach likely allowed Stanford to come back down 2-0. Coaching won this match.

A great year for Volleyball for the women, but I honestly expected more. Had they advanced they simply were not going to beat Nebraska or Minnesota(going on how they played against them previously). Perhaps the media pumped them a bit too much this season. Wisconsin is a very very good team, just not a great team. I admit I haven't seen Texas play, so I don't know how they match up with Minny, Neb, or Stanford.
