Hey, CJ, is there an early catch and release trout season starting January 2nd?

I am anxious for fly fishing![]
Echo 9' #8 rod and Echo Ion #8 reel.

Going to Idaho this summer for a fly fishing trip!

Haven't a clue how it will end, but we gonna give it a shot!

I do also have a Pfluegger President Ultra Light and a 5'6" G/M guide series rod in the truck.

But the old stand bye is a Quick M~110 and an old Berkely Stinger Graphite rod.
(vintage 80's)
I still use it all the time.

I have a Berkley Lightning Rod that has caught many meals of walleyes on it!!!! Still use it when I decide to river rig instead of jig.

Very stiff, but you can feel the lightest hit on it![headbang]
Great for crappie!

There apparently is this year, which is new to me.

Anyone have any good tips for a guy just starting ice fishing?

Find out where the regulars are jig/pan fishing, set your tip ups 20 yards away, grab a beer, BBQ some venison brats and stand by![]

That sounds real classy. Do you also set up deer stands on public lands 50 yards from another hunter?

Fire away with any questions you might have.....

The biggest question I would have is what are you targeting? Panfish, northern, walleye, etc??

You are something else, maybe you should go bitch at some kids about something else you know nothing about.
On a small lake down here 20 yards is more than acceptable, often the lakes are small villages with guys jigging within 20 feet of each other.
If there is a fisheree, there may by dozens, if not hundreds of people all on the same weed bed.

As far as class, everything you post is contentious and classless.
Take your zoloft and move along............[afro]

Have you never ice fished on a busy lake before?
