Stratford at Regis: Prolly the best game out there in the State. Stratford as expected smoked Phillips last week to start the Marawood conference slate. Regis also came off of a blowout win over Altoona. Two of the best teams from the Cloverbelt and the Marawood hook up and it should be a dandy. Stratford gets the win. Tigers 24 Ramblers 20

Friday, 8/31

Marathon at Phillips: Marathon squeaked by Pittsville 7-0 last week which could have some playoff implications down the road here. Phillips had to play victims to Stratford getting run off the gridiron on the road. I see the Marathon offense putting up a lot more than seven points on the scoreboard here as they roll. Raiders 42 Loggers 6

Edgar at Auburndale: Auburndale needed two overtimes to beat Tomahawk while Edgar was being Edgarlike in their win against Chequamegon. Edgar exposes the Auburndale D and gets another big win. Wildcats 45 Apaches 6

Rib Lake/Prentice at Chequamegon: Rib Lake/Prentice dropped a tight game to Osseo-Fairchild at home while Chequamegon had the unfortunate task of playing Edgar. Rib Lake takes the game here by a sizable margin on the road to even the record. Hawks 34 Screamin' Eagles 13

Tomahawk at Pittsville: Tomahawk gave Auburndale all they could handle and then some in the two overtime loss last week. Pittsville could not get anything going on offense in a 7-0 loss to Marathon. I see another close game here for the Panthers here. Panthers 31 Hatchets 28
